Sarah Bernstein, DNP, ARNP, PMHNP-BC, is a Board Certified Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner who holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice, Psychiatric/Mental Health degree. She works with adults, adolescents and children. Dr. Bernstein believes in providing patient-focused, compassionate, supportive care, and stresses the importance of being proactive regarding her patients’ mental and physical health issues.
She graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Florida College of Nursing and Honors College with a Bachelor of Science in nursing. Dr. Bernstein received her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from the University of Florida College of Nursing, with a concentration in psychiatric/mental health. She has completed a literature review regarding misperceptions about mental health and has conducted research on quality improvements in outpatient settings for patient satisfaction. Her capstone project on patient satisfaction was accepted for presentation at the American Psychiatric Nurses Association state conference in 2016.
Dr. Bernstein has earned a certificate in quality improvement from the Institute of Healthcare Improvement. Prior to joining Advantage Mental Health, she worked in Tampa area hospitals and also has experience treating patients in the outpatient setting. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau, an international nursing honor society, and the American Psychiatric Nurses Association.
